In heavily pressured hunting areas you must have a realistic decoy spread that separates you from the pack. That is why Tanglefree developed Pintail Butt-Up Drake decoys and tested the decoy on the Sacramento Valley’s constantly pressured pintail population. With a shallow and self-righting keel, this decoy is functional in genuine shallow water feeding environments. While very effective on a jerk string, the weighted keel guarantees individual long distant decoy throws with perfect upright landings in any condition. The size, posture, balance, texturing, colors and shading of this butt-up decoy will increase your chances over water.

They are big and noticeable which makes them great!
If you’re hunting Rice in Northern California or anywhere else with ample pintails, these are a must have if you want that added realism in your spread. Amazing detail, they look so real it’s incredible.
We hunt up in Northern California rice area. We run around 100 spec, full body decoys and primarily all Pintail feeders. The past two seasons, we have done very well highly recommend them to mix up your spread.
